The Skybolt V2   Frame

The Original Skybolt V1 (all round tube) plans are available by special order only, however, connector kits and drill guides are no longer available through us at this time. Blueprints to have the connectors and drill guides made are included with the V1 plans. 2-22-08

The New Skybolt V2  Powered Paraglider frame! The goal for this frame was ease of building and less cost. It gets you flying for less. With no welding.

The Skybolt V2 is the second generation frame from ppgplans.com. We have eliminated over 120 machined parts from the original design, cutting the build cost to less than half from the original design. This is a very simple frame in all aspects, easy to build, easy to repair. Customers have finished building this frame in as little as one week from receiving the plans and connector kit.

The most important feature is the ability for fast, easy,and the most inexpensive repairs in the industry. This frame has saved pilots thousands of dollars in frame replacement parts, and they have been back in the air in hours instead of days or weeks.

The Skybolt frame is very competitive in weight with any of the stronger factory units, in most cases exceeds them in strength. The Skybolt PPG frame does take some time and effort to build. Once you own the virtually indestructible machined connectors, your repair costs should never exceed $200 to repair the frame.Good Luck with your project, we will be here to help.
 

The Skybolt V2. These plans are e-mailed to you in PDF format. They are simple to scale up, and a 20 page construction manual is included. Technical drawings to make the connectors are now included with V2 plans.

A connector kit is available including the specially designed radial tube to hoop connectors. There are far fewer machined parts in this design to keep costs down. The aluminum, nuts, bolts & washers you order directly from a supplier such as Aircraft Spruce. A material list is supplied. A very simple, strong and fully functional frame.

Cost to complete this frame (minus tools used) is approximately $300 with a connector kit purchase. This does not include the netting, harness, fuel tank, or engine. The average cost to complete the V2 with all new accessories is $3500 - $3800. Shopping for a good used engine and harness can save you plenty!

Once you build this basic frame, there is nothing you won't be able to repair, replace, customize, or even design your own unit with the safety features you want. For a very low cost! You can easily add safety rings to the hoop, replaceable crumple zone, or attach Kevlar netting. Anything any of the factory built units have. The V2 frame will get you started.
