This page contains photos of both the first generation (V1) and second generation (V2) frames. The V2 frame retains all of the functions of the V1 frame for breakdown and portability for less than 1/2 the cost and time to build.
Skybolt
Prototype #2 with improvedleg and hoop design. Black Devil Engine, Skycruiser harness and J bars. This is the one that started it all. Everyone who saw it said, “You built that at home? You have to draw up plans!” All of the tubes were bent at home. See the Videos page for a peek at how it's done. The connectors for this machine were designed with help from Skymaster Powered Parachutes Click on the link, you will see there is professional engineering in this system. It is the Real Deal. In an effort to answer Jeff Goin's (USPPA President) call for safer PPG units. Skybolt PPG Systems is showing here how simple it can be. This is a $10.00, 5/8 x 6ft stick of aluminum, bent with an ordinary conduit bender (like the rest of our frame parts). For demonstration purposes this tube is only taped to the radial tubes with vinyl electrical tape. Added weight is less than a pound. As many rings could be added as needed, and extend as far around as needed. Easily holds up my 160# Son. His feet are a full 7 inches from the prop. This simple method offers the most for your money. click on pics to enlarge. |
